The PokerNews Cup Finale

The PokerNews Cup was a huge success, providing numerous tournaments throughout its run, with a variety of buy-ins and games, live reporting, and unlimited fun and challenges provided in $50K sit-n-go's. The PokerNews Cup Main Event finished today and closed a page in poker history. Eight players started the day and when two players were eliminated, The National Poker League moved in to start filming the play and events of the remaining six. The PokerNews Cup will be broadcast to over half a billion households beginning mid December. Find more info at www.nplworldpoker.com.The Main Event started with 428 players and played down to 118 players before ending day two. Day two wound down when there were eight players left. Obviously, every one wants to win. Figure that with almost every one coming in on a free roll, they were all winners before they ever took a seat at the tables.
The final hand of play in the Main Event found Ng pushing all-in over the top of a pre-flop raise by Zayner. Ng held J♦-8♣. Zayner called the all-in with K♣-7♣. Ng had a gutshot draw when the flop came Q♠-10♥-4♠. The K♠ peeled off on the turn. The 5♣ came on the River, leaving Ng with Jack high and second place. Congratulations Dory! What a great coup, the cash, the title, and the winner of the Inaugural PokerNews Cup main event.
