Bodog Offers 120 WSOP Seats
On February 4th, Bodog Poker began a campaign to qualify at least 120 players for seats into the $10,000 World Series of Poker main event that will take place on July 3, 2008. The satellites and tournaments will run through June, giving players plenty of opportunities to qualify.During the month of February, three seats will be awarded per week. In March and April, that number increases to four per week. And during May and June, as the WSOP is beginning, there will be five seats awarded to qualifying players each week. But Bodog has indicated that more chances to win entries may be added soon.
When a player secures a WSOP seat, it will include the $10,000 entry fee plus $2,000 for travel expenses. And being a part of Team Bodog also comes with a personal coach/handler who will give tips and advice, access to a VIP players lounge at the Rio where massages are available and pros gather in a swanky private setting, swag that includes Bodog clothes and other items, and entry into various evening parties and events.

There are qualifying events at every level of affordability. To begin with, Bodog is offering $1.50 “cheap seats” where one seat into the next quarterfinal round will be awarded for every $29 in the prize pool. These events can be found three times each day of the week. There is also the $1 rebuy qualifier with $1 rebuys and a $1 add-on, the likes of which are offered once daily.
For those with Bodog Poker Points to use, there are qualifying tournaments once per day that require only 100 points to enter. One player for every 17 entries will win $29 in tournament credits that can be used to register for the quarterfinals.
Also available to players are the $5 +.50 events offered twice daily. Players can then qualify or buy directly into the quarterfinals – the $7 +$1 turbo rebuy, the $18 + $2 rebuy, the $27 + $2 tournament, and the 1000 points tournament – all of which are held once per day. Players can then move on to the semifinals by winning their way in or buying in for $250 + $20. In the semifinals, one player for every $12,000 in the prize pool will win the WSOP prize package.
