Charity Report: Fallen Officers Benefit Tournament at the Bike
On Sunday, February 24, the second annual Memorial Poker Classic will take place at the Bicycle Casino in Los
Angeles. Presented by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Transit Services Bureau and organized by Deputy Scott Diamond, the charity poker tournament will benefit the families of local law enforcement officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty.The event will begin with a dinner at 4pm, though check-in will be as early as 3pm. For all participants who pay the buy-in for the tournament, a buffet dinner will be available. During that time, poker pros in attendance will be available for autographs and photos, and a raffle will take place.
The poker tournament is scheduled to begin at 5pm. The $100 + $20 buy-in no-limit hold’em event will offer unlimited $100 rebuys during the first three levels of play. There are numerous prizes that have been donated, such as subscriptions to Bluff and All In magazines, and Full Tilt gear. But it will be the final table players who will all receive prizes worth over $500. Some of the top prizes for the top finishers include a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise for two on Card Player Cruises, iPods, big screen televisions, two Full Tilt poker tables with chip sets worth over $1300 each, and an $1,800 World Poker Tour Boot Camp package.
The first 100 entrants will receive a custom Fallen Heroes Memorial Classic shirt and coin card protector. All proceeds from the event will go to the Fallen Heroes fund, a non-profit organization.
