Most online poker rooms are offering satellite qualifiers to the World’s biggest live poker tournament, the WSOPwsop Main Event in Las Vegas.

Full Tilt Poker has scheduled a 150 Main Event Seat Guaranteed tournament qualifier to run on Sunday, June 15th. You can buy-in directly for $500+35 or satellite in for as little as $2.25. They also offer several weekly qualifiers including Sunday’s $500+35 qualifier, Tuesday’s $200+16 qualifier, Wednesday’s $300+22 qualifier and finishing the week with the Thursday $1000+60 qualifier. There are several daily satellites running as low as $5.50. The winners of these qualifiers will receive a $12k WSOP Main Event prize package. Full Tilt is also giving away 50 free Main Event seats in their “Race to the Main Event” promotion. If you win your seat on Full Tilt Poker and go on to win the WSOP Main Event, they’ll pay you a $10 million dollar bonus.

PokerStars is offering several ways to win a $12.5k WSOP Main Event prize package including a $1050 Friday qualifier and Saturday/Sunday $650 Qualifiers. Tournament satellites start as low as $2. This year PokerStars is offering “Steps” SNG satellites. There are six (6) steps to winning your seat. You can buy-in to a Step 1 SNG for $7.50 or 500 frequent player points. You can also buy-in to any one of the six Step SNG’s or work your way up from Step 1. Go to PokerStars for more info about their Step satellite qualifiers.

Bodog Poker
runs three $250+20 tournament qualifiers every week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to win a $12k Main Event prize package. Satellites start as low as $1.50 or 100 frequent player points.

You can spend a lot of time and money trying to satellite into this year’s Main Event. I prefer to play qualifiers with the best odds at winning a seat instead of going the cheapest route. Ultimately, your bankroll should dictate which path you take.

Obviously, the $1k qualifiers have the best odds at winning your seat (12 to 1). PokerStars $650 qualifiers are 20-1 and the Full Tilt $500+35 qualifier is 24-1 odds. What you’ll discover is players in the $1k qualifiers are much better than the lower buy-in qualifiers. They’re more difficult to satellite into therefore they have less satellite players. Most players in the $1k qualifiers are buying in directly which is why the field is tougher.

PokerStars $650 qualifier and Full Tilt’s $500+35 qualifier have many more satellite players and still have good odds to win your seat. These are the qualifiers I recommend trying to satellite into. If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to get to the big dance, I’d recommend either PokerStars new Step SNG’s, Full Tilt’s “Race to the Main Event”, Duplicate Poker’s WSOP freeroll or Bodog’s cheap seat satellite qualifiers.
