Everest Poker Dream Team Assembled
The six-month process of finding select players who will fill the Everest Poker dream team
in the “Live the Dream” promotion has finally come to an end, and the team has been unveiled. The final step of the process took place at the Palais Auersperg in Vienna, Austria with interviews, poker play, and deliberation by a panel of experts.The Live the Dream team consists of:

The selection process at Everest Poker actually began back in October of 2007 when players from around the world could qualify for tournaments via numerous satellites or compete by buying in directly. The top ten winners in each weekly game qualified for the “casting call” in March. Also, the top five players with the most summit points (frequent player points) for each of the months of November, December, January, and February qualified for the “casting call” in Austria as well.
The 200 finalists gathered in Vienna at the end of March for the “casting call.” Each player was judged by their online poker skills, live poker skills while in Vienna, personality, knowledge of the Everest Poker brand, blogging skills via a sample blog entry submitted to the judges, and speaking skills. The public had a voice, as they could vote on contestants through the website, and a panel of judges, consisting of Everest Poker team members and special guests, made the final decisions.
The chosen players each won a $100,000 Live the Dream prize package that includes buy-ins to several of the world’s biggest tournaments – EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final, 2008 World Series of Poker main event, two other 2008 WSOP events, two World Poker Tour season 7 events, and two EPT season 5 events. Each player also received $21,000 in cash for related travel and other expenses.
For the coming year, the Live the Dream team will travel the world to represent Everest Poker, blog about their experiences, and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience courtesy of Everest Poker. And they each have the opportunity to parlay their $100,000 prize packages into even bigger winnings (and fame) by winning any of the events in which they are entered.
