Just a week after taking down the Sunday Warm-Up online at PokerStars, Hevad KhanHevad "RaiNKahn" Kahn - courtesy PokerStars moved on to live play and took down the WPT Foxwoods $2000 prelim event for over $100,000.

KL: Who are you? Where did you come from? Tell us all about Hevad!

Hevad:
I am Hevad Khan. Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY. I am 23 years old. I was a college student before I dropped out in my senior year to play poker for a living. I am now currently on the online pro team on PokerStars and I travel the poker circuit around the world playing all the high buy-in no limit hold'em tournaments.

KL: How did poker become a part of your life?

Hevad:
When I graduated from high school I went to my buddy’s house the very same day and I played five-card draw for a $20 buy-in cash game. I naturally was the fish and lost like $200 before I started playing online, to which I account all my future success to come.

KL: Do you feel you were accurately portrayed on TV or was it almost an out of body type experience because of the rush, the money, TV, everything about it?

Hevad:
I felt it accurately portrayed the amount of intensity I felt towards such an experience, but I am a lot different since the tournament has ended, however I still possess the same intensity, but it’s just kept inside of me instead of letting it out.

KL: Do you think talking and being outgoing at the table is helpful to your game? Does it give you an advantage on other players?

Hevad:
I feel it breaks the ice between players. Also, it allows me to see the big picture that everyone is just a normal, cool guy trying to enjoy their day playing good poker vs. each other. So, the bottom line is that yeah, it does help me play better.

KL: Where do you play?

Hevad:
I play full-time at PokerStars as a Team Poker Pro; also I travel to casinos every month for tournaments. I specialize in MTTs (Multi-Table Tournaments) and I play on average about three tournaments a day.

KL: What is something no one knows about you?

Hevad:
I used to have a Power Rangers lunch box, book bag, and T-shirt.

KL: Tell us all about the Sunday Warm-up!

Hevad:
I managed to build a big stack during mid-stages of the tournament while the railbirds were going crazy. I won with A-A vs. Q-Q with 6 tables left, then J-J vs. 8-8 as well. When we reached final 3 tables, I picked up a lot of over pairs and managed to chip up enough to reach the final table 4th in chips.

When there were six players left, I was last in chips, but the blinds were so big that any pot could change positions in the tournament. I won a few crucial flips and sucked out with A-2 vs. 9-9 for my first double up.

I played very aggressive three-handed and managed to gain a lead to eventually win! I ran around in my boxers jumping up and down then I high-fived my brother who was playing Halo 3 at the time! I felt very happy and angry at the same time, because I was ready to fight and take on the world, while being totally thrilled at the $97,000.00 success!

KL: What do you have coming up?

Hevad:
Right now I am at Foxwoods in Connecticut playing the Poker Classic WPT Event here. When I bust from the $10,000.00 event here I will be taking the very next flight out from here to visit Bellagio for the WPT Championship Five Star Circuit. When that ends, I will take three weeks off, then fly back to Vegas for the WSOP for six weeks. It should be great!
