If you want to make $100,000, you can do it two ways.
You can risk a ton of your own cash and hope to double it or maybe spend $100,000 trying to make $100,000 at one of the thousands of poker tournaments offered daily on PokerStars.
Or you can just enter a tournament for free.
That's right. PokerStars is offering a chance at a cool million-dollar prize pool, rather than a stress ball, for 5,000 Frequent Player Points.
Zip. Zero. Nada except for a few points.
The PokerStars Turbo Takedown returns for a shot at $100,000 every month, and not only will you get a shot at the first prize of $100,000, but if you can't win that, you can soothe your raw feelings with a chunk of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
Just making the final table will net you $5,500, and the prizes get a lot fatter from there.
You also won't have to play all day to get there. Last time the bubble burst less than two hours from the start of the tournament. And PokerStars pays out 4,000 spots and limits the tournament to 12,000 players.
The game, of course, is No-Limit Hold 'Em, so you have a 33 percent chance of cashing. Those are pretty good odds. The least you can earn is $90, which isn't a bad night at the cash tables.
There's even satellites for as little as 10 FPPs and run almost constantly.
You can find the tournament by clicking events and special in the game lobby.
The Takedown takes place at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time starting this month, on May 25.
Want to try it? Download PokerStars now and you'll get an exclusive PokerWorks bonus of $25 free in addition to a 100 percent matching bonus up to $50. You must enter the marketing code of POKERWORKS upon registration and the bonus code of FIRST2008 upon your first deposit.
