The Full Tilt Online Poker Series is almost halfway done as events 8 through 11 are in the bag. EventFTOPS Champion #8 kicked things off Sunday and was a heads-up No Limit Hold’em contest with $500 + $35 buy-ins. The prize pool barely exceeded the $250,000 guaranteed amount by $6,000 as 512 players bought into the heads-up tournament.

“GoToChurch” took the largest amount out of the pool at $51,200 after beating “Boondy” in the finale. Jon “PearlJammed” Turner, one of the best online players in the world, was probably the most notable person in Event #8 and he finished 40th.

Event #9 had plenty of notable people in it as the Gus Hansen hosted tournament offered just over $1.5 million in payouts. This No Limit Hold’em tourney has been the largest so far as 5,090 people paid the $300 + $22 entry fee to get in.

Of the numerous Full Tilt Poker pros involved Keith Sexton, David Singer, Eddy Scharf, Steve Brecher, Erich Kollmann, Clonie Gowen, and Stuart Patterson were all among the 738 players who cashed out. However, none of them were close to the final table.

So while no Full Tilt pros were at the final table, there was an excellent online player in Mark “xqsays” Radoja that made it. He finished in third behind “MK376” and the winner “_FlaXmarZ_” who banked a sizable $263,438 for beating 5,089 players.

Monday began with Mike Matusow hosting a $200 + $16 buy-in tournament and Pot Limit Omaha/8 or Better was the game. The 200K guaranteed mark was eclipsed at $227,400 as 1,137 people jumped online to play.

The host, Matusow, was the only Full Tilt pro to see money in Event #10 as he got 47th. A big surprise at the final table was to see the winner of the second event in “whothedonk” still in the thick of things. But whothedonk wasn’t able to outplay “lilkimmer77” who captured first and garnered $51,165 for first place.

The last tournament to take place on Monday was Event #11 which happened to be another No Limit Hold’em contest. And despite only 1,593 people entering it, Event #11 featured the biggest prize pool of any FTOPS tourney so far with $1,593,000 due to the pricey $1,000 + $60 buy-ins.

“PearlJammed” showed consistent play by again cashing in a FTOPS tournament after getting 115th and Huck Seed was the top Full Tilt pro at 50th place. The final table featured a couple of pretty successful online players in Jonas “Klausen” Klausen and Jerry “DontBluffMePLZZ” VanStryDonck but both went out before the eventual winner “Halfrek”.

Halfrek received a great prize in $342,295 while Klausen and VanStryDonck both had excellent cashes at $160,893 and $68,499 for getting 3rd and 6th place. Make sure to check back Thursday to see who cashed in for major money in events #12, #13, and #14 which take place today.
