Later on Dan tried gambling and grew fond of poker. Probably it was the main reason why he dropped out of a high school and started chasing every poker game he could enter. At the age of 21 he left to Las Vegas – poker players dreamed land.

His first appeareance in World Series of Poker in 1998: Pot limit Texas Hold'em champion – 23-years-old Daniel Negreanu, the youngest WSOP champion ever. “Kid Poker” that's how he is known up to now. The next year brought him the US poker champion name. Accidental success or natural talent?

Nowadays, Daniel Negreanu is one of the most familiar faces in poker. His success is enormous, his talent is unrivaled and his personality is unforgettable. In 2004 he won one bracelet and finished in five other events, earned ESPN's Toyota players of the year award. Later that year he won over $1.1 million in the Borgata Poker Open and the Five Diamond World Poker Classic with $1.8 million prize pool. All in all his 2004 tournaments winnings were over $4,400,000. He loves playing in $1000-$2000 or $4000-$8000 games. He is currently the second all-time leading money winner on the World Poker Tour circuit. So far he has three WSOP bracelets, and two World Poker Tour titles.
Believe it or not but he is known for his ability to read other players. Simply looking at his opponent Dan may determine a correct information about his opponent's hand.

“Kid Poker” says that if he could change anything in the poker world he would change the negative image of poker - "For society to see that it can be a healthy profession although it's not traditional. Get rid of all the bad apples, the cheats, the badmouths, the hot tempered, etc. If that happens, I can see poker being accepted more readily my mainstream society in the near future."

If you will ever see a poker player who is wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey and listening to music on headphones be sure that is a man with the mission: poker – Daniel Negreanu.
