Full Tilt Poker Continues to Accept US Customers
Full Tilt Poker has released a point-by-point statement outlining their plans to remain in the US market in the face of recent legislation passed by Congress last week. Full Tilt, in an email to players on October 5, pledges that "Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide all of its players - both inside and outside of the United States - with a full complement of real money ring games and tournaments for their enjoyment."
After spending several days consulting with legal experts, Full Tilt has the following conclusions to put forth in their email to players. Notably, "The new U.S. legislation does not in any way attempt to criminalize the act of you playing online poker. By playing online at Full Tilt Poker, you are not breaking any U.S. Federal laws." This is an important clarification for the "sky is falling" crowd of players that have rushed to cash out their online poker accounts in recent days. There is, in fact, nothing in the Safe Port Act making it a crime to play poker on the internet.
In addition to promising to continue to offer all the customary methods of deposit and withdrawal to their site, as well as reiterating the security of player deposits, which are kept separate from company operating funds, Full Tilt holds the opinion that online poker is not subject to the new legislation at all. "Furthermore, we firmly believe that online poker is not encompassed by this new legislation. In any event, we will continue to lobby for an express carve-out for online poker and for your right to play a truly American game from the privacy of your own home and computer.
It remains to be seen what the US legal system thinks with regards to poker's legality in the face of this legislation, but US customers still have the option to play poker online with Full Tilt Poker. To show their continued dedication to US customers, Full Tilt is offering a 50% reload bonus up to $500 right now. Deposit $1,000 to take full advantage of this bonus.
