Resistance is Futile…On All Fronts
In the case of joining the PokerWorks “blog collective,” resistance never entered my mind. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted more for the New Year than to be part of the burgeoning, warm, and diverse PokerWorks blog family.

I remember my post back in August when cc joined the family.  It was then that I suspected that PokerWorks “got” it. While a lot of poker sites have added blogs, few get our strange dichotomy of both being wildly individualistic, while still harboring a strong sense of our diverse community. When Iggy piled on, I knew PokerWorks was on a poker blogging vision quest.  And when I heard who else was coming on board…well how could I resist? Â

Tunica was the other front where I just couldn’t resist. I’ve been going to Tunica in January for the World Poker Open for many years now. The WPO is where I played in my first “major” event - finishing in decidedly dead money.  Tunica is where I would ultimately hook up with my “poker boyz;” my rag tag team of traveling poker road buddies.  And in my book, Tunica is still one of the biggest bargains on the circuit; great comps, cheap rooms, and just a ton o’ poker.
wildbill was the first of the boyz to weigh in. Once his Tunica die was cast, the pull of Mississippi swamp land was strong. Debonair (who allowed me to crash in his new Henderson pad during the WPBT) was the next to belly up.  Yet, I was still procrastinating. For one thing, the GoldStrike was already booked.  I love operating out of the Strike; it’s my Tunica home turf.  After begging and pleading, the Strike was able to squeeze me in. They are just great poker peeps.
So on January 3rd, I’ll be hopping in the green monster, my faded and once green 1994 Mazda, and driving the 10+ hours for another Tunica adventure.  I’m looking forward to some cheap sats, hopefully yielding an event buy-in or two.  I’m counting on some drunken pai gow, a little blackjack, and cheering the boyz on to their eventual final tables. Rumors that zipman may join us abound - but we’ve already laid 8-5 odds on a zippy wuss-out. And zeroth (aka The Poker Shrink aka Tim Lavalli) is totally jealous. He has to work the Aussie Millions and can’t make the Tunica trek. Poor Tim - all that sunshine and poker - but no boyz. I really feel for him (cough).
My only regret is that apparently Maudie, I think Gracie, and some of the G-Vegas contingent is heading to Tunica after I am scheduled to leave. Hmm. If I actually won something…
Going Forward:
I’ll soon post a page about me and my goals for my new “corner” of the internet. But in the interest of full disclosure I should divulge that I am somewhat of a rare commodity in poker; I’m a total nit. IMHO, the word nit gets misused and abused.  While some people use it to portray a cranky rock, it is really intended to mean someone who always strives to be on the positive EV side of a bet.  When I die, my tombstone will read, “She Got Good Value.”
I’m not a gambler.  Maybe that’s a strange thing to say in a poker blog. But I’d rather play no game than a game with negative expectation (except for pai gow where I make sure I get a good drink overlay).  So if you spend time in my new corner, I will be spinning my usual traveling tales of poker and industry observations.  But I’ll also be scouting out the best bonuses, the fishiest games, and the best overlays.
I can’t tell you how tickled I am to be here….

Wow the first comment on Amy’s new blog. I am honored. And honorable. To prove it I will vow to protect Amy from all those sharks in Tunica by holding her bankroll. She is after all, such a defenseless girl
As to the sleeping together part, no fear, anything I happen to put on her back will be small and harmless.

Welcome home.
Understand you’re a wizz at chip counts. Hope the Rio doesn’t steal you from us…who am I kidding on that count…

Amy - it’s so great to have you here. A toast: May we all blog happily ever after and always share a smile, a hug, and ourselves through our writing. *glasses clink*
Of course when we get together we’ll just get downright damned outrageous…

Kudos on your new blog, Amy. And win something in Tunica so you can brag about it on our radio show!
You’re right. You always do get good value.

Any poker blogger who makes Star Trek references is OK in my book! I look forward to reading more of your entries.
