Blogger Invasion: Vegas Style
My trip to Vegas was just about as perfect as it gets. Apparently my plane ride out with the under ten year old crowd was to be my only bad beat.  It started with the pokerboyz, had a little bizness in between, and was topped off with more bloggers than I’ve seen since the Winter Classic.  And I even ended up (a little).
I got picked up at the airport by two of the pokerboyz; Debonair and the Poker Shrink. They were awaiting my call from Hooters - they claimed they were just there for the poker…right. I basically drank  talked with the boyz Wednesday night. Thursday was spent on bizness prep and the meeting I used as an excuse went to Vegas for. The meeting went well and finished up just as Debonair was finishing up at the Orleans final table. So the pokerboyz headed out to dinner at our now traditional stop; the steak house at the Gold Coast.Â
Friday, me and the boyz headed over to the Binions 2:00pm. Since they ripped out the old carpet that smelled like smokey wet dogs and tore down the old bordello red velvet wallpaper, Binions has become a hell of a nice place to play. We all swapped 20% of each other and away we went. Poker Shrink, by his own account, donked out. I played my solid dead money game.  And Debonair scored his second final table of the week, taking down second. Flush with Debonair’s score, the Shrink and I took him out for dinner. Back at Casa Debonair, I had another early fade and called it a night.Â
Saturday, we dropped Debonair off at the airport. The Shrink and I did a little work before heading out to Red Rock for the much anticipated meet up with Pauly, Change, and Derek.  I’m not sure if you caught up with Pauly’s death defying March Madness swings, but we were lucky enough to catch the boy coming off a very flush day (and thanks again big guy). We headed over to, of course, the Salt Lick BBQ. And I couldn’t believe my luck, but I was finally able to meet the blogfamous Senor. After reading Pauly’s blog like forever, I thought Senor was just the stuff of blog legend.  I ate like a pig and drank like a fish - but it was the company I enjoyed the most.  A blogger meet up in Vegas is as close to heaven as I’ll get.
Change, the Shrink and I decided to get in on a little 4/8 O8 with a half kill - while the rest of the guys checked out the pits and contemplated a strip club foray. While waiting for the game, I noticed an empty seat at the video poker bar. Like a moth to the flame, I bellied up - even though it was a $1 machine. I’m usually a quarter gal. Ten minutes later, I’m up $90 and cash out in time to be seated for some real poker. We all get seated at the same rock garden (or is that redundant when talking about Omaha hi/lo). Â
As we were playing, a familiar face approached the table. OMG, it was Dr. Chako!  If you’ve not caught up with his blog lately, Dr. Chako is reveling in his newfound mid-life crisis. What better place to wallow one’s own mortality than Vegas.
After many hours, I managed to eek out a $19 win at the Omaha hi/lo table of death. It had been a good day.
I have been playing catch-up since getting home - and have so much more to tell. But until I get caught up, check out Pauly’s stellar coverage of the EPT’s Grand Final at Monte Carlo. Will Evian water and big busted Swedish women be the ruin of Pauly? Or will it be the $40 hamburgers and $11 beers? Check out the coverage at PokerNews.

It was great seeing you in Vegas! Too bad we didn’t get to commiserate on our shared mid-life crises experiences. I spent WAY too much time at Caesars staring at the Ferrari.
Hope you were winning.
