Well I safely arrived in Vegas on Monday and was swiftly scooped up by wildbill and the Poker Shrink at the airport.  While I did have to get into Vegas a couple of days early for pre-WSOP meetings, another motivating force was to get a little poker out of my system. (more…)

The Johnson Filter

As more and more women were taking to the felt, I was beginning to worry that our gender edge was in jeapordy.  But as I read a recent post on 2+2, I was able to rest easy again.  Damn.  Thank goodness a lot of guys still view a woman’s ability to play poker with a johnson filter over their lens.  (more…)

Well to select today’s online player “victims,” I decided to scan the money list at this week’s Mirage Poker Showdown.  With 27 players making the money (and the final table to start today), there were a number of talented online players to choose from.  But today I thought we’d tackle Darrell Dicken, Jonathan Little and Jared Hamby. WSOP Pre-Game

For many players and observers, there was a traditional lull before the WSOP; a collective deep breath before the seven week poker marathon.  But with the tournament schedule ever expanding, there is a little less lull this year.  And for me personally, there has been none.  I’m already in “pre-game” and wishing I had more time to prep for “the” fire hose of poker experiences.   (more…)

When I die, my tombstone is going to read, “Here lies Amy. She Got Good Value.” I’m not ashamed of being frugal (or cheap as the fiscally uneducated might call it). In fact, I wear it like a badge of honor. I don’t pay retail. I don’t settle for lesser quality. And free stuff rocks my world. I’m a comp whore - at the casinos and in life.

Shooting Online Players: Part I

No.  I’m not going postal or exacting my revenge against online players because of a bad beat.  But back in ‘04 I’m sure there were a number of veteran poker pros that fantasized about that idea.  Back then, the pros viewed most online players as the unwashed masses; nameless and unpredictable landmines in their once familiar terrain.
