Goofy Moments from the WSOP ME
Apparently when the going gets tough, the tough get goofy. At least that was true in the 2007 WSOP ME. Players that had been staid and serene throughout the preliminaries were uncharacteristically…well silly…when they struck up the music for the big dance.

Kirk Morrison has been congenial with the press since his return to poker, but during the Main Event he was downright playful. This is not the only picture I have of Morrison’s tongue during the event. But the tongue must have been working for him as he scored over $150K for 56th place.

I’ve watched Devin Porter play a number of times, including his 2005 WPT final table finish in Aruba. Up until this year’s Main Event, I had never seen him make a funny face - and this was not the only funny face I digitally captured from the event.

Our next photo victim is actually no stranger to goofiness. Mark “PokerHo” Kroon always seems to be having far too good a time when he plays. So it was really no surprise when I lined up a shot of just his chip stack that I found his face in there, mugging for the camera.

David Mitchell-Lolis never struck me as a goofy guy. But maybe there was something about cashing four times in the WSOP, including a final table that makes you want to flash a toothy grin.

I’ve taken dozens of picture of Ted Forrest over the years. They all pretty much look the same; a polite benign Mona Lisa smile. This day, I got a wave. Why? I have no idea.
