Tilt, Full and Complete

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

I had deposited a couple hundred dollars on a fringe site a couple of months ago, before the World Series. It had an outrageous bonus, and I was going to see if it was possible to get the bonus. Well it wasn’t, at least I couldn’t do it playing smaller stakes that might be approachable to most.

Is Poker All the Same? NLHE vs Razz

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

I’ve had a little flurry of play the last couple days, with a game going while I work on some work stuff. I’m really a limit holdem player at my core, but I’ve been experimenting with Razz more as well as have been playing a good bit of NLHE. With that, as always, some questions that I need help with.

A Child in Need and the Future of Poker Blogs

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Sweetie and I were talking over the weekend about how blessed we are to have three healthy, great boys. A couple weeks ago, Mookie posted about another boy who isn’t so lucky.

High Stakes NLHE

Monday, August 28th, 2006

When I played in the Mook last week, fuel55 was railbirding a bit after busting out then said that he was at a $10/20 NLHE game. “I like to test myself an hour or two a week at that level every week,” he said. Well heck, I already had a horrible donkified few hours of NLHE Friday night, so why not give fuel’s theory a try?

Things I Need Help With and the Jamie Gold Situation

Friday, August 25th, 2006

The Mook and H.O.R.S.E. Enlightenment

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

On the felt twice, maybe three times actually if you add one in early.  This was a battle for me, the first blogger tourney I had played in for awhile.  Third place was the result at the Mook (you can head there for the play by play).  I normally play more for the camraderie than anything, although I want to take these down.  Rarely do you get to play against some very good players that you know, but this is one place.

The ESPN WSOP Main Event Program and Jamie Gold Sued

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Last night was the start of our weekly World Series Main Event on ESPN. Thanks to the joys of TiVo, I watched it after putting the boys to bed. I sent Sweetie to the movie for a break, where she saw The Devil Wears Prada with Meryl Streep.

Houston, Do We Have a Problem?

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

In honor of Doug Kim, 7th place at this year’s WSOP Main Event, here’s to his beloved Yankees sweeping the Boston Red Sox in a five game series.  That is five (5) games.  In Boston.

Some Good Sleep and Lousy Poker

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I finally got some much needed sleep over the weekend, including ten hours last night. I’d tried to finish my 45-SNG events but couldn’t get them all in. Congrats to Johnny Mac for taking down the event.
