A Little Down at the WSOP

It’s dinner break here, and I’m a little down sitting in the Media Room alone.  There are several piles of sandwiches, but it looks like folks are fed up with that (I am).  I had a voice mail from Sweetie and the Little Guy, and they had gone up to a neighbor’s house in the mountains north of G-Vegas because there was a bear caught in a trap.

The Little Guy had repeated the chain of events, getting to see the bear and everything.  It was great to hear his voice, as well as Sweetie’s.  I talked to her for fifteen minutes or so until I saw Jason Strasser and Doug Kim walking past with Chris Bigler on dinner break, then I hopped up to chat them up.  Jason’s been able to keep a very level head through the bad beats, and he’s constantly being sarcastic with Doug.  Here is a horrible photo of the both of them.

Enough about me.  The field is down to 228 players, with no signs of abating any time soon. Bigler and I both think that two more levels get us down to 140-150 players, a whole day ahead of the pace they were supposed to be on.  Average chip stack has jumped up to a whopping $384k.  Blinds head to $4k/8k with $1k antes.  Negreanu is out.  Not sure how, but he’s been nursing a short stack all day.  Annie Duke has $700k.  Alex Balandin has moved up to $1.6MM in chips. May or may not post anything else.  Good night.
