Dmitry Nobles stayed in the top three in chips, but the story unfolding is getting more and more complex. Phil Hellmuth said that David Chiu is playing really well, and he’s put himself in great shape to make a seriour move on Saturday. When you look at what happened yesterday, it’s hard to really understand it unless you take a few steps back.
I saw David Chiu at Johnny Chan’s party, and he was owning the heads-up play with tourists for play chips. Tournament chips have no cash value, but he’s made a great move and is the most experienced at the top of the leaderboard. Saturday should be a free-for-all. No clear leader emerged from yesterday; in fact, the field bunched up so much that literally anyone can make a move today.
Debral Lalor made a big move yesterday, jumping up to 10th in chips almost out of nowhere. She qualified late and has been sick throughout the Main Event. I’ll come back after a quick pass to see where all the key players are and what that means.
cc – can you briefly post what the denominations are for each colored chip?
Your doing a great job in keeping us up to date. I want to thank you for the spreadsheets too!
