Update: 4:10PM
Poker glitterati in the house: Negreanu (on the radio currently), Ferguson, Raymer, Hachem, Williamson, Bigler. Jeff Madsen just booted from the Media section, John Juanda in the bleachers. Juanda’s head sits atop a giraffe neck, and his eyes dart just like he was playing. Allen Cunningham’s big pot lost to Jamie Gold on trip 9′s is the hand of the day so far. Allen limped with something worse than 10-9 that Gold had with trip 9′s, as the board sat at 9-9-8-5-A. Maybe 9-7 suited? SWAG ALERT: leave a comment and email me at csquard@gmail.com for the PartyPoker t-shirt they left for the media.
Jamie Gold still playing alot of pots, getting away from pots when he should and going after pots when he should.
Great articulate CC post eaten by the website, so thanks WordPress. Doug Kim and Jamie Gold are scrapping a good bit, and Doug’s holding his own. Allen Cunningham has yet to win a pot; that’s because he hasn’t played a pot.
Dan Nassif was clocked by Jamie Gold, but he made a pretty donkey play with big slick. He raised, was called by Gold, flop came 2c-3s-5s, he shoved and was instacalled by Gold and his pocket deuces. Play is fairly tight except for Gold. He’s playing about 10/15 hands so far, grabbing some pots that are uncontested. Richard Lee has shown a willingness to shove all-in if he’s in a pot, and he taught Rhett Butler to do the same in a hand with Doug. More later.
