CC’s New Addiction: H.O.R.S.E on PokerStars
Put aside the fact that I lost $80 in three hands of Stud H/L 8 running into two full houses and the wheel, then another $30 when my KK ran into a flopped set of 10’s in LHE. And that I’m never sure of all the rules for each game I’m playing. And that I have no idea for most of the strategy in these games.

I’m hooked now on H.O.R.S.E, compliments of PokerStars.  LHE, Omaha, Razz, Stud, Stud H/L, I don’t even know all the games to be honest (most are H/L I think). But I get to pretend like I’m sitting in the Big Game with Ivey and Benyamine and Hansen and Jen for crying out loud. I have figured out the strategy for playing all these games though: fold until you have to play, then either fold or lose more unless you miraculously hit something. And I should go to the bathroom whenver Omaha H/L is played as I have no clue what my hand is worth (note to self: chasing a 10-high flush with the board paired is a good way to spread my bankroll to others). It definitely trains you to get into the chasing mode, so I’m not sure what happens when you switch back to LHE or NLHE (I’m talking for a feeble-poker mind like me), but it will definitely get the juices flowing again. I’m not a site pimper, but I’m hooked now.
If you didn’t check out all the tuff_fish videos from yesterday’s post and you haven’t seen them, you must check them out. First week back from WSOP is almost complete. Sleep still a bit screwed up, didn’t get nearly as much done this week (need a big day today). I’d like to get a home game up this weekend, but it is awfully late to try. I still haven’t had the ribbon cutting on the new room, which sucks. If you know German, head to Klaus’ blog from Deutsche Poker (met at WSOP). Heck, even if you don’t know German, you can commiserate with his horrible three-day adventure at Heathrow, just like Tom Hanks in The Terminal. Yuck!
Have a good weekend, and thanks for stopping by.
