I’ve tired of contemplating the what if’s and why’s of online poker and legislation, so I’d rather look again at what poker is supposed to be about:  a good time, a challenge, an opportunity to improve at something, and a chance to become a winner.  But first, a few shoutouts to get us started on a Monday.

Thursday morning, my client, along with fifteen executives and sales people, decided that
10:00AM would be a good time to start planning the conference that their distributors were sending folks to starting at 1:00PM.  I was drafted to lead the group of thirty people through five hours of brainstorming and discussion.  Fortunately, it ended up pretty positively for everyone, although the absence of planning was a bit stressful for me.

Finally found a wireless connection that works here in the heart of hot air balloons.  Of course I hit Sandia Casino’s card room last night, took a couple of body blows, and made it out relatively intact.

I’ve been on a string of downward life experiences over the last couple weeks, and yesterday didn’t help too much. After losing $1,996.20, I have to ask myself: is this a good time to play poker?
