Quest of a Closet Poker Player

We now have a race on our hands as DrPauly himself took down the top honor last night in CC’s Thursday Bash.

Pauly is everyone’s buddy, but he’s been very kind to me for quite awhile.   Because of my inept ability to focus, our tourney was renamed the Accidental Limit CC’s Thursday Bash as I accidentally made it a limit tourney.  Definitely changed the dynamic a ton as most everyone would have busted one time or another.  It sets up for a terrific final two weeks as anyone is still live for the top bonus of $300 for collecting the most points after four weeks.  Here’s where we stand after the first two weeks:

I played last night after Sweetie and I watched Survivor.  I’m sure the wonka clan was taking it in as well, but what a ride! Two voted off in one night, and poor Jenny caught it from left field.  I’m all for Survivor, so I’m totally in for the duration regardless of if it is good or not.  This one is absolutely great.  WillWonka’s poker continues to be a source of conflict in his household what with his new arrival coupled KidWonk.  He’s one of my favorite people I virtually know, and time management is so tough when you suddenly have a baby added to a pre-schooler.  Here’s hoping they work through things.

As I had mentioned earlier this week, I’m in a difficult situation currently with my play.  Since my major meltdown a couple weeks ago, I’ve been on a tear.  I’m up around $1.7k since my big drop, but it’s how I’ve gotten there that troubles me.  Mainly I’ll pop open a $2/4 NLHE or $1/2 NLHE table, combined with an occasional Triple Draw, HORSE, or PLO H/L session.  A table is often background noise during the day as I work on a client deliverable or finding the next new client.  I’m searching for some help in marketing my company and lead generation as these are the two things I don’t enjoy at all.

So let’s see, I’m winning and have now built my online bankroll to an all-time high, so should I be playing at all?  I miss the fifteen hour days trying to make the company work as I’ve slipped into what I think is an unhealthy passive worklife.  A pipeline of leads would be a great help, but I need to reinvent my days.  As it stands now, this is no good, just not healthy nor helpful in the big picture.  I’m not getting any undue pressure from Sweetie about it, but I’m just not sure what to do.

Casino Royale tonight watching Bond lose a monster pot, then hopefully to skidoo’s game tomorrow night.  Have a good weekend, and I’ll talk to you soon.
