Quest of a Closet Poker Player

I met Haley this summer at the WSOP as we both slugged away trying to crank out stuff and keep some sanity.  She often didn’t have a good place to sit, wandering around the Media Room until the second Media Room was opened up.  She always had a kind word, and I tried to help her if I could (which wasn’t much).

Her blog, Haley’s Poker Bl-Auggh!! is one of the best kept secrets in our little world.  If you’ve never stopped by, then please do.  If you have stopped by, then head over again and again.  IGGY and I were talking about her at the WPBT, and we both agreed that she’s one of the best kept secrets out there.

Jim from Memphis fired an email to me to try and get me to head to Tunica while I’m here.  We’re going to a University of Memphis basketball game that my Dad arranged tonight.  In the email, Jim said that there were several people who knew that would arrange transportation for me whenever I wanted.  I originally thought that this sounded really hospitable until I started thinking:  OK, why would these folks want me to sit at the felt with them?  Ahhh, the whale comes into town, and the sharks get together to take him down…now I get it.  I’m not sure if I’ll be able to sneak over to Tunica, though it would be great to do.  Econ, my brother, would be up for it and could drive, but I don’t know if we’ll be allowed to do it.  We’ll see.
