I’m Quitting You Poker…

At least until next year.  No more play this year unless it’s Tripoli, a kids game for pennies that combines poker with a couple of other games that I don’t exactly remember until we play it each year.

I’ll leave the 2006 retrospective for those more accomplished than I, but it’s been a nice ride for me on the poker front.  My biggest accomplishment is that I didn’t go busto.  Leave it to the premier players to set goals like taking a bracelet, winning a tourney, or having a six-figure month.  No, my big goal heading into the year was to have a bankroll by the end of the year.  It’s healthy enough sitting just under $8k, not incredible but not horrible.  That includes my $2k entry into a WSOP event.

The bigger accomplishment for me is my association with Linda and PokerWorks.  I met Linda for the first time a year ago, and I was just one of the nameless, faceless groupies that she, Pauly, IGGY and Felicia had (perverts/stalkers can be inserted for groupies).  Linda allowed me to write articles for PokerWorks, conduct interviewers with players, cover the WSOP, then move this blog to PokerWorks.  There really was not a good reason to invite me here when she did as I am not a rock star nor a particularly good writer.  I have problems, both through poker and in my life in general, and I’m maybe more open and candid than others might be with somewhat sensitive things in my life.  If people happen to come by and look at it from time to time, then that’s great.  While others would like me to crash my bankroll and give the details, I’ll hopefully avoid that.

So here’s to Linda, one of the best things to happen to me in 2006.  Have a safe New Year’s, and take care all.

Wow! I am so flattered. Thanks you so much because I feel everything is mutual between us. I love your articles and your posts.

Happiness and health to you and yours for 2007 and each year after.
