Square One Never Looked So Good
First, let me be thank everyone for coming out to CC’s Thursday Bash. It might not be the largest field, but I’d put these 27 players up against any couple dozen you could find. It was a Who’s Who of our little corner of the universe.
AlCantHang, Pauly, lucko, IGGY, Mookie, Hoy, drizz, Zeem, Haley, Falstaff, Guin, Don, jeciimd, wwonka, pokerpeaker, hacker, S.t.B., lightning36, biggestron, and bayne_s. It’s a long list, all after Fuel as he tried to three-peat. When the dust settled, it was Al and Hoy bubbling with lightning36 taking third to an epic battle that denied runner-up Fuel. The victor was a newcomer, Shane, who battled well with Fuel to take the title. Congrats to a crew coming out.
I busted out fairly early, getting up quickly then misplaying a hand followed by busto. I three-tabled some $0.50/1 NLHE and went on a nice rush on one of the tables, getting my $100 up to $480 or so at one point. I lost $45 when I flopped a straight on a 8-9-10 board with Q-J (bayne had bought in light and also had a straight with 6h-7h). I check-raised bayne on the turn trying to get a third guy to come along, but the innocent turn heart left him with hardly any chips to fold to my raise, and he caught his flush on the river.
February isn’t over obviously, but after the last two days, the net of my poker play looks like this: +$0.58. Biggest day was 19 February (+$459), and worst day was 20 February (-2213). Yes, with a nice +$680 over the last two days, I’m back to flat for the month of February. Can you say roller coaster?

Really fun time as always, cc, thanks for hosting. And I agree, a very strong field like this always make it more fun. And thank god there was no threepeat, I don’t want to have to hear about that all week ;).

Thanks for the fun game, the welcome, and the chance to play! I had a great time, and was so excited after, as you could probably tell in my email, I barely slept last night! I have been reading all you guys for years, and feel like "I know" you all, well as much as you can know someone from reading a blog.
I definately got lucky a few times, as you must in tourneys, and dealt at least 2 ridiculous beats that I felt terrible about. I had fun, and will definately be out as much as I can to play in the various blogger events.
