Difficult for an old man like me to watch, but nice to see Shakira mentoring others.

Here’s to Paul Wasicka, who valiantly battled Shannon Elizabeth then Chad Brown for the NBC HU Championship. That $500k plus the WPT Commerce 4th place finish ($455k) puts him close to $1mil over the last couple weeks. He may be the real deal to emerge from the WSOP Main Event. Shannon Elizabeth will make incredible television, as well as the battle royale with Don Cheadle outlasting Phil Ivey in the longest match of the first round.
I’m not sure if you’ll be able to go to the NY Times article, but it’s a great article on Alfonse D’Amato, former NY Senator, who has been hitting the NY underground circuit and has just been signed up as a lobbyist for the PPA. This definitely changes things as it gives poker a legitimate friend in DC. We’ll see what happens next, but it can’t be bad.
