Quest of a Closet Poker Player

We’ll pick the series up on Monday for those of you hanging on every word. Thursday night was CC’s Thursday Bash with CC’s HU Challenge as a new twist.

We had a light crowd with 18 players, and Sweetie and I were in the midst of chatting about schoolwork and tutoring of All-In after his 3rd grade math has been slipping. With that, I go from first to worst to eventual winner Blinders, who knocked out bayne_s in a great HU battle. It was a pretty frustrating start of the night for me, preceded by donking off $87.75 with AK on an KJT flop (thank you, 10-10…).

While this was ending, the HU Challenge was launching. It is an event that we’ll pimp heavily next time, as it was really a great, great tourney. Only ten of us, so here’s how it ran (six received bye’s):

If I had the short term memory or attention span of Hoy, this would be a big write-up of these battles. And there were some really great battles. I only wish the buy-in had been $2k so slb could have taken some serious cash away. I will definitely host this again, and we’ll figure out what the best buy-in will be. It could be a great event in the future.

That’s it. I’m hosting my first blogger game here in the ATL in my beautiful poker room. weak, transfish, kurokitty , surf, butchhoward and flagstaff are schedule to appear, with skidoo trying to figure out how to cancel his own regular game so he can sneak over. “If I don’t make it, can I just play you HU for CC?” he asked me. Let’s see, I ask every neighbor I know and I can’t get anyone to play. I tell the ATL bloggers that I’m going to have my cash here at a game, and they literally fly into town to grab some of it…
