Who’s That Girl? (Lots of Hand Histories)
I snuck over to the Mook last night to join 73 other players on FullTilt. Out in 18th after a fairly tough hand crippled me.
I grabbed chips very early when this hand pushed me into the top three early.

I ended up still being patient with my few chips but ran into a tough A-J vs A-5 after I shoved, with the board of 8-10-A-8-8. I moved in on the next hand with 55 only for another player to move in with 99 and skidoo to have the pot odds to call with A-9. He spiked the ace and knocked out both of us.
I moved over to a $2/4 LHE table to try and get my FullTilt bankroll back into triple figures. It had fallen back to $95, and early in the session I was staring at $49 left in my account. A flopped set of fives will do that to you. I was pretty fortunate to run into this hand to right the ship a bit:

That set me on a torrid stretch where I made a raise early with 10d-9d only to be re-raised by the guy to my left with J-J. Two tens flopped, and for some reason he didn’t believe me for quite awhile:
Joepro61972: nice suck out
csquard: you caught me, then a nice flop…
nyc2007: dude thats donk poker, hardcore no fold’em, lol
Joepro61972: just been suck out like that all night
nyc2007: i hear ya…. same here, the 2/4 donk calls with everyth, lol
OK, so I’m a donk, fine, whatever. Then I get a bit lucky here (should I have raised the river? I dunno, I was a bit perplexed…).

Black aces are beautiful, no question, but one pair sometimes doesn’t win in LHE. I left, he monkey tilted and called me a hit-and-runner after I’d played 97 hands, etc.
On a few other notes, slb has a new article up on PokerWorks. I stumbled upon this pretty neat video of poker cheating against the Hendon Mob from some British show. Pretty interesting.
Which led me to this video of Tony G totally tilting Ralph Perry with his table talk in something called the Intercontinental Poker Championship. I’m actually not sure how bad a call this was, so I’ll let the math whizzes figure it out.
Tony G must have some sort of bad blood history with The Devilfish. I wouldn’t walk into any dark alleys any time soon, that’s for sure… Big, big call by Tony G vs Doyle Brunson, major league. “That’s the Tony G, that is the Tony G. Yeah, baby! Now you have to face the Tony G, Devilfish.”
This is why I have boys, not girls. Bad beat, Daddy…
Blake’s “You Give Love a Bad Name,” I think, was terrific. Who needs to hear another copycat karaoke version?
So no Manchester United-Chelsea Champions League final as Liverpool knocked out Chelsea on penalty kicks Tuesday while AC Milan tore through Man U 3-0 yesterday. AC Milan-Liverpool rematch from two years ago should be a terrific final hopefully, although Kaka looks like some kind of player.
Finally, the mystery girl who I interviewed yesterday? I’ll give you another hint. She termed a new word in our vocabulary.

Straight vs. your rivered boat… I would have added GREAT RIVER BET! (actually yes, I’d bet the river here with your boat).
