Hand History, Butt #8, Poop, and Other Stuff

A couple of butts today, a hand from my big $2/5 NLH cash game, and other stuff for today.

$2k NLH event today, which means crowds.  Not all tables are filled, but they are using the tent outside.

When you have so many tables in the smaller buy-in events, two known players at the same table is fairly rare.  Here, this dude is bookended by Jennifer Tilly and Barry Greenstein.  And they’ve given him plenty of room.

Butt #7.  Finally, a butt somewhat in focus (sorry about the chair).  Good luck all.  And here is just an extra butt.

ButtExtra.JPG Just an extra butt.

Speaking of butts,  one of the dirty secrets in the WSOP is poop.  Guys decide to poop normally fifteen minutes before a large event starts, so there are huge lines trying to get into the stalls.  No photos.  Helpful hint:  poop an hour before you head to the tourney.

OK, so I decided to play $2/5 NLH last night.  In the second round this hand comes up.  Late 20′s glasses chubby guy nervous type makes it $25, the button calls, and I look down at K[s]-Q[s] in the small blind and call.  The flop comes Q[h]-10[h]-10[d], and I check.  The raiser makes it $75, the button calls, and I fold.  4[h] comes on the turn, the raiser checks, and the button makes it $150.  Raiser calls, and Q[c] comes on the river.  Raiser checks, button says, “I’m all-in” and puts $100 in reds out in front of him.  He has the other guy covered with another $220 or so ($320 total, other guy has $250 or so).  Other guy sits for a bit then mucks, and the button says, “I normally wouldn’t show this, but it was too good of a bluff,” and he turns over J[c]-9[c].

My questions:

  1. Was my sb call good pre-flop?
  2. Was my flop check good?
  3. Was my fold good?
  4. What do I do on the turn if I’m in?

I’m not a guy that “puts him on a hand,” but for some bizarre reason I had him on aces after the flop.  He walked around a few hands later, and everyone had him with A[h] also.  A guy to my left said he didn’t like the river shove, shover defended, and I said I think both were right.  I think the raiser could have figured this out and called, but the shover thought the raiser liked his money too much.  I’d be interested in your thoughts on the matter, especially bright folks like Lucko, Fuel, Don, Otis, and Hoy.

Back to the grind…ping me at csquard@gmail.com with any requests or encouragement.  And for Name that Butt.

Iam going to guess LJ, who finished 97th in Ladies event.

This is based on shirt combination because I don’t remember if she was wearing jeans.

In a tough game, the call from the SB is bad. You’ll be out of position for the rest of the hand and as huge as position is in NL, I don’t like the call. Besides, you’re going to have a dominated hand many times (AK or AQ) In a loose live game, the call is fine – gambool.
After the flop, I like the fold. I think you had the second best hand on the flop and the original raiser had you in bad shape.

Cyndi Violette is my hurried guess. :)

You should RR OOP there. If you just call folding the flop is OK.

my guess would also be Cyndy V. or maybe Annie Duke…2nd butt…no clue….probably just a railbird

thanks bayne, but not me. i was wearing way boring khaki long shorts. however, i was wearing green and white tank tops, so great memory!

I don’t mind the call. You’ve got a chance for a big hand in a three-way pot with decent stacks behind them. But with the raiser just calling a pretty signifcant bet there, I think folding is OK without a read on the players.

Thanks for the extra work on the summaries, even if no one reads them. :) . Glad I could free up some time so you could play.

    Cyndy Violette is correct, jusdealem.
