Michael Craig’s First Final Table & Butt Redux

OK, I’m officially envious that Michael Craig is second in chips at the Final Table of the event I played.

Michael has played alot of events at FullTilt and has broadened his tourney game to get here. This is no run-of-the-cards luckbox, I don’t believe. One of the guys from my table, Joe Brandenburg, also made the Final Table. He moved to the table with some chips, then JC Tran was moved to the table after I busted. I think I’m feeling just pure envy that I came close to getting to Day 2 without ever having any chips. I’m just hoping I don’t tap out our home equity line of credit now and buy into every event.

I’m listing all of the unidentified butts and giving everyone a new chance at them Here they are (left to right: 9, 13, 14, 16, 17)

Hopefully these are thumbnails that will pop-up; if not, I’ll do a do-over.

The HORSE event definitely has the crowds primed as the railbirds are four deep surrounding the corral. Every time a table breaks it brings excitement. John Hennigan moved across from Eli Elezra at one table while Barry Greenstein sat next to Tuan Le, his protege, at another.

Marco Traniello busted out at Eli Elezra’s table during Razz, and Huck Seed did the honors. They got all the money in with Marco behind, and Allen Kessler said, “You can’t suck out three times in a row.” He didn’t, and Marco had a few parting thoughts that included The Bird, an f-bomb in the always popular “F@*% you very much,” and a couple of other parting thoughts. Jennifer Harman had been railing him from the press area, and both were none too happy to be splitting.

HORSE Hellmuth1_1.JPG

Phil Hellmuth was in form in the 2s at a table with Allen Cunningham in the 10s, Joe Tehan in the 8s, Phil Laak in the 7s, and Kristy Gazes in the 3s. Kristy could not stop laughing as he went through all of his various diatribes, and everyone kept shooting her glances and looks that just kept her in stitches. She tried her iPod and bounced to some beat, but then she’d just start cracking up again.

I’ll announce the winner of the Put-CC’s-Banner contest by the end of the day. Updates to follow, and have a good day.

UPDATE 11:45AM

If you haven’t read my take on Day 3 of the HORSE event, read it here.   The Cliffs Notes version is that the structure has gotten ahead of things again, and Day 3 is set up to be a big shovefest.  Investment required to be in a hand is set up for a quarter to a third of the average chipstack.  It also means no one is out of the HORSE event and truly anyone can luckbox there way to the most important title in poker.
