Quest of a Closet Poker Player

If you’re a 6-max player, this is an event that would put you to the test.

All of the attention is on the HORSE Final Table, but this event is one of the ones with almost every top pro in it as well as others who have had recent success (see Jamie Gold).

Chip Reese is alone at his table, but many of the players are just stacked or at least include several names:  Jennifer Tilly with Annie Duke; Jennifer Harman, Phil Laak, and Hoyt Corkins on the left side of the felt; Greg Mueller, Terrence Chan, and Antonio Esfandiari.

I’m working on a piece on the Top Ten Women in Tourneys over the last year (from last WSOP until now).  The list is in some ways surprising.  Here is one player in consideration for the top ten, Beth Shak.

I met her and her husband last year during the WSOP Main Event.  She was at the ESPN Feature Table and has a runner-up finish this year.
