Big Interviews
Yesterday was a real zoo for me when the PR rep for PokerStars came up to me.
“Chris is in a cash game, but he’ll be here in just a few minutes,” he said. I checked my schedule. I was supposed to interview Isabelle Mercier in ten minutes, not Chris Moneymaker. “No, that’s tomorrow, not today,” I whined. “No, Chris is now, Greg is in thirty minutes, and ElkY is in an hour.”
I scrambled to get questions ready for Moneymaker and Raymer and asked to reschedule ElkY. Chris Moneymaker was great, although I would have liked to spend more time with him. I tried to focus on things I hope haven’t been covered much: his youth in Tennessee as an example.
Greg Raymer, well, I could have interviewed him for four hours and not gotten enough. Very, very interesting guy. Again, we spent alot of time on other things, his time before poker, the 2002 Main Event (he sweated Russell Rosenblum), travel and marriage. I hope to get one of these up each day for the next couple days.
This is pro day for the most part, with everyone picking today as the ideal time to play. Allen Cunningham at the start, and I hope to take photos of him for quite awhile.
This guy too. Wouldn’t it be incredible to see him next week? Dinner break, then bagging chips today, that’s what you’ve got to do first.
My buddy Kristy. It’s enough for me to have a few people say hello to me. Kristy is one of my favorite players, and she’ll be one to watch if she makes it through today.
Amnon Fillipi owes me $50 on a prop bet (he said they wouldn’t play six levels on the Day 2’s, I told him they would). I know somebody who knows someone if he gives me any trouble…
Betfair will be the sponsor of WSOP Europe. She played last night. Anyone interested in booking a flight to Dublin or Vienna?
More later.
More stuff later.
