Quest of a Closet Poker Player

So our lot at the Cliffs just bumped up in value a bit with yesterday’s big announcement:  Tiger Woods’ first US golf course design will be for the Cliffs, located outside Asheville, NC.

USA Today, ESPN, and others reported the announcement that I had kept under wraps since last week.  See the press conference at Cliffs Valley here.  The Cliffs Communities is a collection of seven communities in Upstate South Carolina and North Carolina.  It now has two Fazio courses, two Nicklaus tracks, a Gary Player course in the works, and an upcoming Tiger Woods course.  Tiger talked about the course as a walkers-only one, which would limit it to play only by a few scruffy billy goats and black bears in the area.

We’re members of Cliffs Valley but have access to all the other courses and clubs.  Sweetie isn’t a golfer and isn’t too comfortable in the country club settings.  I really think if there were great schools in the area that we’d build on our lot and move there.  Until then, we make the payments and watch the value rise.

I played a little bit yesterday, including losing a big pot with AA vs Qh-Qd on a Jh-Jc-10h-9h board (Kd came on the river).  Also, check out my Greg Raymer interview. It is now up, Part I and Part II complete.
