Down then up then down then up was how I ran until a brutal thirty minutes last night knocked me down $500 or so. Back into the hole as I try to get my bankroll back above $4k again on PokerStars.
This hand finished it off for me as I played nineteen hands at this table plus nine at another to lose buy-in’s at both. Do you slow down here?

Also, I normally fold here but didn’t this time. It obviously worked, but do you fold these small to middle pairs in a situation like this or when you get re-raised (more likely)?

By the way, I’m sure everyone knows about this. If not, PokerStars is hosting their World Blogger Championship of Online Poker on 14 October at 3PM ET. I won’t be able to play in it, but this is a no-brainer free-roll for sure.
In other news, the link to a story about the WSOP Final Table on www.espn.com jumps straight to the Rugby site Scrum.com. Maybe more than coincidence?
Tonight will be a big night on ESPN where we’ll find out exactly what Jerry Yang had as he went hyper-aggressive in the early stages of the Main Event Final Table.
I’m in the midst of a busy couple of weeks, so sorry for the brevity.
In the first hand, it’s hard to get away from AA but I try to tell myself that I have to somehow find a way to fold overpairs. It seems weak, but AA often isn’t worth it. Of course, that’s circumstantial and a call may have been justified in this case, depending on your read. I would have raised more preflop though.
In the second hand, I would have 3bet sofaking with 99. But your flat call and call of a reraise is OK since you were getting 10:1 odds to set mine and you got paid off.
