Don’t look now, but I’ve made up my September loss and now sit above $4k on Stars.
Sick Hand of October
Maybe it gets sicker than this, quads beat by a Royal and all that, but this is plenty for me.
Go Shortie, Is It Your Birthday
Random sampling I just took at $1/2 NLHE 6-max on PokerStars: 61 active tables, 60 shorties (<$75 at table). I’m not really sure if this has gotten more or less prevalent over the last year, but it is noticeable.
Close but No Cigar
The first month of my PokerStars challenge had me in a $700 hole heading into the last two days of the month. I’d closed it to -$150 by Sunday when I hopped down to the pit to grind away.
One of Our Own in Iraq
If you didn’t know or haven’t kept up, Dr. Chako is in Iraq doing medical duty with our troops. His wife has also started a blog to capture some of her experiences as he is so far away. If you haven’t dropped by there, I encourage you to do so regularly.
Team Domeski Documentary
cmitch at Opoker had a link to an upcoming documentary by N 82 50 24 on four UGA online players, including Jeff “yellowsub” Williams.
Snapshot #1: Big Pots Won and Lost
Out of pocket for a few days as PokerWorks did some maintenance on servers etc. I wanted to get deeper into the month’s results (now back up to -$300 or so for the month). Specifically, I wanted to look at these big pots that I’ve been losing, as well as why I win some of them. It seems every step forward I make is joined by another backwards. Interesting what data shows.
The New Plan
Thanks to everyone who has emailed me or left comments regarding my big losing session. I’ve come up with a new gameplan which hopefully will strengthen my poker pursuits in the coming months.
I Hate Poker
The results (-$2,357.20) always trigger this, but I’d been contemplating whether all of this is worth it before yesterday’s disastrous run.

Annette “annette_15″ Obrestad has hounded the online MTT world for the last year or so, quickly becoming one of the dominant players at big tourneys and small alike. At the tender age of eighteen, she’s become the latest woman to take home a WSOP bracelet and now the youngest bracelet winner in the history of the World Series.
