The Full Tilt Jet
David Chiu never thought he’d grow up to be a rock star. But he sure looked like one as he arrived in Melbourne, Australia on the Full Tilt jet and was greeted by throngs of breathelss fans. The plane carried poker luminaries such as Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, and Erick Lindgren, as well as Hunting Fish author Jay Greenspan and the WPBT’s very own expatriate Full Tilter HDouble!
The papparazzi descended upon the pokerati as they deplaned, flashbulbs going off left and right, autograph hounds emerging from the crowd, grown men dropping to their knees with tears in their eyes as their heroes paraded past… ok not really. Six navy-suited members of the Crown Casino’s staff were there to meet Team Full Tilt and whisk them away to the casino in a fleet of limousines, if only to get Phil Ivey to the craps tables as fast as humanly possible.
John Caldwell filed an awesome video blog of all the airport action over at Poker News. Check it out. And lucky Pauly got to crash the Full Tilt arrival party at the Crown and catch up with Angeleno-turned-Dubliner HDouble! Before his gig at Full Tilt moved him across the pond to Ireland, HDouble hosted the infamous Murderer’s Row homegame at his apartment in Los Angeles– a place I’ll always hold special as it is where I met all my fellow L.A.bloggers for the first time, as well as a certain doctor.
Tonight I’ll be heading north from the Slums of Beverly Hills to the actual Beverly Hills to play in a homegame with Jen Leo. Stay tuned for a full report… ![]()

Hope you play as well as you did in Westwood.
