Chasing Chris Ferguson

I played in a NLH tourney - guilty of not having my face stuck in the game as I was multi-tasking on other projects - the game had been running into the 2nd blind level, and when the screen popped up, I was the BB with K-K, two people had gone all-in; the first player had somewhere close to $700, the other player had me covered. I had about $1,300 in chips. I called. BOO HISS! The one that had me covered had A-A and I was out. I’m just not sure I would ever throw those two kings away in that spot, unless I really knew the player well. He could have been just isolating the all-in with any Ace-face or small pair.  Any comments on that? (more…)

I was too annoyed to post last night after the actual freeroll and I honestly figured you didn’t want to read a bunch of obscenities anyway, so it was best for everyone involved that I went to bed, had some time to think about my play and now I will write my post. (more…)

Last night I played 2 freerolls and busted out early. My demise in HE came when the blinds were 200/400 and I raised preflop 5k with the AQs.  The monster hand that called and beat me was 5-2 off suit. Sure I flopped a Q and thought it was the best DUH silly me! Last night’s score was good witch 0 donkeys 2.

Tuesday the 20^th I spent way too many hours playing in the Stud Freeroll to try to get a seat in today’s Round 2.  That is the only pay off, coming in the top 88 and advancing to a tournament that there is real $$ to be won.  I came in 9^th in that one and advanced to GO for today’s Round 2 Freeroll.  (more…)

I have been dancing around, playing micro stud, micro HE and managing to do nothing more than hang onto my bankroll, such as it is. I was $1 ahead and played with that hoping for a parlay but it wasn’t meant to be.

I’ve played a few tournaments, obviously haven’t managed anything stellar, one of them I didn’t make it past the first round of blinds.  I just got S-U-C-K-E-D out on in two big hands and then blew off my final chips in a Last Act of Defiance move.  It was NLH and I was out in a heartbeat or one long gasp of air, however you want to look at it.  It’s obvious that some of these people play pretty damn well, even though it’s a free roll, you still find some pretty decent players.  Impressive.
