From On Top To On Bottom In Two Hands

Settled in yesterday afternoon for the 4:35 p.m. Ultimate Bet Freeroll and was doing OK. Had my chip stack at around 6000 after an hour’s play from starting with the standard 1500. Blinds were at 100/200 when I was BB and caught pocket Aces. Had a full table of callers and I went All-In. The player three from me went All-In with me and we were pretty even in chips stacks though I had a few more than he. Everyone else folded so we had ourselves a showdown. He was holding a KJd. The flop came as 10d, Ah, Js. Now I had myself 3 Aces! The turn was a 7c and the river was a 2d. Close to a flush as well as a straight for my opponent but NO Go! I took 12,000 chips home.

So here I was basking in the sun over that and I pulled and A3h on the next hand. I was under the gun but feeling confident so I called my 200. Three other players called and the flop was 4h, 5h, As. Now I was one card from a straight flush and I had a pair of Aces. I bet 800 and when the player in position three went All-In with 7,000 chips, I called him. Everyone else folded once again. The turn came as an 7c and the river was an 8c. He turned up an AQ and took 8,000 chips from my coveted stack!

After losing such a chunk, I did a some sitting and waiting for a good hand to play. Then I caught another pocket pair of Aces and thought this was my chance. I had about 3400 chips. Blinds were 200/400 I was in position one. There were 2 callers at this point and I decided to go for it. Went All-In again and as before, only one player, position 5, called me. His stack was at about 11,000. The flop came as Kd, Qs, 10h so no Aces but a possible straight. The turn was a Kh and the river was a 6s. No straight, no Ace and he showed and AK unsuited. Three cowboys kicked my butt! Back to the gambling board, I guess. $Maxiecat$
