Yo..Yo..Yo..Yo..
Nah, not the “Yo” like Rocky says when he is calling someone, but the round toy on a string. That is how I have felt lately, up and down, up and down. I got in a bigger buy in Stud H/L tournament Monday night on PokerStars, a $22 buy-in. I was very curious if the players played any better if the buy-in was higher. The answer is…… not much.
I had Linda sweating me, and puking with me at some of the hands I was chased with. A key one was I started with 444 and slow played it to the guy who I knew would raise with the ace, he did and I made it 3 bets and a 996 off suit called a capped pot. I ended up making a 7 for low and trip 4’s for hi, the 99 caught the case 9 on the river to make trip 9’s for hi. Did he even notice one of his 9’s was gone? I guess he didn’t care, hoping for that miracle he got. Linda will attest to the fact the guy had no other possibilities, and I was showing 4-5-6-7 up and was ramming all the way. I gotta hand it to the guy, he was wayyyy luckier than me and chased everyone down and made something that won at least 1/2. These are the guys you really gotta love in the game cause they play that way all the time, and normally don’t last long. If I would have won that hand both ways, I believe I would have placed 1st, but I didn’t and came in 3rd. I got chased down a lot, and now I know, the play is not much better for a $22 buy-in then it is in the $1 buy-in tournament.
Here is the nice email from PokerStars:

Dear PokerHack07,
You finished the tournament in 3rd place.
A $144.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
Feeling flush, and hoping I was going to finally catch some cards, I got in a 2/4 game. I lost, couldn’t put a hand together, so tried the 3/6 and lost there too. What is is that I can’t make a hand in a cash game? I was beginning to think I didn’t know how to play anything but tournaments anymore! So, tonight I played the $1 Stud H/L tournament, I managed to hang in just out of the $$ at #77. I then went to the 2/4 cash game, and won back what I lost last night.
My bankroll is back up to $340.00 for now anyway, as it is subject to change at a moments notice!
Come play on PokerStars, look me up and give a “yo” see you there!
