The Repairmen Blinded Me Out
I thought I had found myself some quiet time to login to Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet and catch the 3:32 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. HE freerolls. I started playing both and was doing extremely well in the Poker Stars tourney with a couple of All-In “Maxiecat takes All” hands. I was only holding my own in the Ultimate Bet game. I had been playing for about an hour when the doorbell rang and the Wood Floors and More repairmen had finally gotten around to my turn. They came in and evaluated my defective floor board and decided to repair it on the spot. Guess what? The bad board was in my office where I was playing my tourneys on my desktop!
They assured me that it would only take about 30 minutes or so to complete the work and I hated leaving my tourneys to themselves but I really had no choice considering the fact that I had been waiting for 3 weeks for someone to come by. Here in Florida, you are lucky if you can get a repairman to ever show up, much less actually complete the repairs!
Well, as my luck would have it, the project took an hour as the board was so well secured to the concrete floor that they had a time cutting it out. Both of my tourneys had blinded me out so that was then end of that.
I felt that I had to give it another try and be fair to my tourney schedule, so I got into a 7 Card Stud tourney on Ultimate Bet. But, lady luck had left me and though I was able to hang in there for a good bit, I finished 1633 of 5000. The hands just did not come for me. I guess this is my poker player’s version of the big fish that got away. I really think I had a great chance of winning that Poker Stars tourney! Better luck next time, I hope. $Maxiecat$
