I’m A Pussycat and A Moron!
I finally stole some time away from our house guests and logged onto my sites around 9:20 p.m. Missed the Poker Stars 9:32 p.m. Hubble’s HE Freeroll by seconds as well as the Full Tilt 9:40 Razz tourney as they filled up before my eyes. I managed to sneak into the 9:35 Ultimate Bet HE freeroll on a wing and a prayer and therefore got to play at least the one tourney last night!
I started off really well and took out three players within the first five minutes of the game. That really felt great! After taking out the third player, one table member congratulated me and I thanked him and this prompted another player to call me a Pussycat. I just could not resist sending back a Puuurrrrr! That got a response from yet another player of Grrrrrr! and as he got taken out of the game the next hand, I replied MeOOOOW! These folks are really too much sometimes and I never really get into it. I must admit that it was amusing.
The player seated to my right was one of those really aggressive agitators who had something to say about everything, was rude when he won a hand and taunted all the players at the table. He was playing pretty well as far as his hands for a while, which built up his chip stack very nicely (about 126,000) and then he got arrogant and started doing a lot of bluffing. (He was also one of those players who loved showing his cards when he bluffed you out).
I caught and AJ of Spades and I was the dealer. Blinds were 200/400 and my chip stack was around 35,000. I bet 1200 and was called only by the player-position one, Mr. Agitator, and so we were off to see the wizard. The Flop came as 4c, 5s, Kh. Mr Agitator bet 2400 and I called. I KNOW it was a draw hand and I had to assume he had Kings but I just could not help myself!!!!! He had been bluffing the rest of us out and I just had to go for it. The Turn was a 7s and he bet 32,000 to force me either All-In or out and my trigger happy finger (the middle one) was uncontrollable as I clicked on that All-In button. And then, I found out that there really is a high power who sometimes looks out for the underdog idiots who just can’t take care of themselves. The River was……no, not a spade, but an Ace and he had K,6 so I took his chips! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I took that lovely stack of chips from Mr. Agitator and made him like it!!!!!! He immediately proceeded to proclaim me a MORON (Not, a donk, Glenda) for putting all my chips in on a draw hand. He was so pissed of that there was probably spittle flying all over his keyboard as he typed. Maybe he was even throwing his pet cat against the wall, who knows? But, man did it feel GOOOOOODDDDD to be the MORON who won the hand. It has happened to me sooooo many times. Revenge is just ever so sweet! No, I did not respond to him in any way as I must remain the professional Ferguson stalker that I am. I just let him seethe instead!
After this hand, I settled down and played a little more conservatively to slowly build my chip stack and I actually made it up to 80,000 chips and was in 20th place at one point. Pickins’ were slim on hands as time rolled on and when the blinds got up to 1000/2000 and the ante climbed to 125, I was really having a hard time holding on to my stack.
I finally thought I had caught a break as BB with 69,000 chips and an unxepected hand. I had a K3 and checked as the player to my left was the only player who had stayed in the game for the hand. The Flop was 5,3,3. Trips were not so bad for such a hand as I had and I bet 4000. He called. The Turn was a J and I bet 10,000 and he called. Now I was wondering if he shared my trips as that had already happened earlier in the game and we split the pot. The River was a Q and I bet 23,000 and, of course, he called. He turned up a pair a Queens, so his two pair became a Full House thanks to that white water River and I got washed away! Now, if I had been protecting my two pair, you KNOW the river would not have given ME the Full House. Maybe this was payback for gloating so much over my sweet revenge!
With 30,000 chips or so left, I knew I would not last too long without a major win. My stack continued to dwindle from Blinds and Antes and after 3 total hours of play, there were 63 people left and I had only 7170 chips. I was BB and was forced to pay my 5000 chips for a 4,8 of Spades. The Flop came as 5h,6s,7c so I went All-In and two other players were raising and calling. The Turn was a 9h and The River was a 10h. One player bet All-In on the River, the other folded and the winner was…….the guy who had a 4,8 of Hearts, that’s who! I finished the tourney #62 of 5000 at 1 a.m. $Maxiecat$

what a great finish out of that many players. The one where you flopped trip threes is very hard to figure a different way to play the hand. You had him, he got away, that’s what it comes down to…and with Queens, he probably wasn’t going anywhere so if you went all-in, you probably would have gotten called.
It’s fun to be a M-O-R-O-N sometimes. I do Super Donkey at moments.
