Still Here For The Party

After reading the latest blogs by Glenda and Linda, I am reminded why I am still Here For The Party.First a note to Glenda about the player with the K,6 off suit.  I have seen that hand as well as even a K,4 off suit take down my pair of Aces, Kings or Queens on more occasions that I would ever care to count.  It is almost frightening to bet and go for it  if you have “only a pair” in your hand.  These people are psychic and will knock you out of the game every time!  I am living proof of it!  Have another beer and chill, Glenda.  I am waiting for my new purchases  (a brand spanking new crystal ball and a spell and incantation quick reference guide) to arrive so that I can beat these people at their own game.  More to follow on that….

As for my comments to Linda, I can play HE or 7 Card Stud all day long without catching any decent hand to write about and then jump into a Razz tourney and get nothing less than a high pair but most often I catch at least two pair or three of a kind.  It never ceases to amaze me.  If I could just confuse “O Giver Of The Cards” as to which game I am playing, I might have a chance at winning something within my lifetime.  Perhaps there will be something in the spells and incantation reference that will help with this dilemma also.  (Just keep feeling the love, Linda).

At any rate, I have to just jump into the tourneys and do the best I can so that I can be true to both myself and the blog.  I played in three Ultimate Bet tournaments last night:  the 4:35 p.m. HE Freeroll, the 5:35 p.m. HE Freeroll, and the 6:35 p.m. 7 Card Stud Freeroll.  I lost my 2 pair (and 4 card flush) to three of a kind that put me out of the first tourney.  I lost my Flush to a one notch higher flush to get knocked out of the second tourney (should have known someone else would have two pocket diamonds as I did and that they would just have to have the Ace to take out my King-remember, cowboys don’t like me singly or in pairs).

The 7 Card Stud tourney was a loss of my own fault as I was playing it with my niece assisting to teach her how to play.  I was distracted as I was explaining to her what was happening and how everything worked online as well as how to read our hands dealt as well as those of other players.  She did manage a 4 Queen hand as well as an Ace high flush lacking one card from being a straight flush when she was sitting in the driver’s seat, so there may be something to beginner’s luck.  After a while, she was allowed to play hand her way and tended to bet far too often on draw hands that never came and dwindled away all the chips.  Even so, it was an enjoyable experience for us both when all was said and done as we laughed and griped enjoyed the entertainment.  We were here for the party together and that was just fine.  $Maxiecat$

Poker is like life. We can focus on the bad, cry about the past and our misfortune (sometimes a little grief and steam is necessary), or we can ready ourselves to step into full battle gear and load up our chips in ‘fire’ mode. I prefer ‘fire’ mode most of the time.

    let’s give ‘em hell, girls!
