Tens And Twos
I got into the Ultimate Bet 6:35 HE Freeroll yesterday evening and caught a pair of Tens on the very first hand. I was BB and everyone at the table had in their $10. I raised to $60 and had 2 takers. Then I flopped myself another 10 so starting off with 3 of a kind was not too bad at all. I bet $200 and the player two down from me as well as position two were all that stayed in. There was also a King and a Six out on the table with no flush hand a risk at this point.
The turn was a a really nice surprise, another Ten, So I went All-In and both players went with me. Position two had two pair Kings and Sixes (Hand of K,6) but the pair of Tens on the table had bettered his hand. The other player had Kings only (K,J). The River came as a 4 so I mopped up with over 4500 chips!
With such a nice start, I was really hopeful at hanging in for some bucks, but I waited a lot for good hands and then lost several hands that did not gel ranging from K,J to 8,9 of Spades to a pair of Kings (as usual, cowboys have it in for me).
My last hand was as shocking in an unpleasant way as my first had been exciting. I caught A,K of diamonds and bet 600, which was 3X the blinds. My chip stack was at 3,000 and I was in position 4. Position two raised me to 1200 and I bit. His stack was over 5,000. Everyone else folded on us.
The flop came as 2,2,A and I bet 600 again and my opponent went All-in so I went with him. He turned up a freaking pair of twos! The turn was a 3 of something and I don’t even know what the river was as my chips went flying over to his stack and I was out! What a bummer! I finished #881 of 5,000. $Maxiecat$
