Two Up And Two Down, But Not Without a Fight!

Still no wins of late, but my percentages for at least one Freeroll in every session are getting better.  I registered for the Full Tilt 3:40 p.m. HE Freeroll yesterday and managed to stay in and hold my own for a good stand.  I finished #211 of 2700, which put me in the top 6% as compared to my Ultimate Bet HE Freeroll at 4:35 p.m. where I finished at 1334 of 5000 getting only into the top 27%.

I think I need to learn not to go All-In when hands are few and far between.  It is easy to do when you starve for a hand for so long and then finally get a good one.  The problem is, there’s always the player with the big bank roll who intimidates the rest of the table.  He can afford to force you all in, slow play you, bluff you or do whatever and when he finally gets caught, he can sit it out for a while and then build his intimidation back up to get you again.  This has happened to me many times.  Again, my end in the two tourneys was my straight getting flushed and my flush getting canned by a full house.

On the flip side, when you know you have to earn more chips to survive, you have to do SOMETHING.  It is sort of like learning to water ski.  You usually try and fail several times to get up on the skis and for those of you who have done it, you know that it takes some time for the boat to come back around and for you to get yourself reset into position to try again.  Then, suddenly the boat takes off and you make it up on the skis and your first instinct is to pull back on the rope handle to steady yourself.  That is always your downfall, literally.  Because when you pull on that handle, your skis glide you forward very quickly and you are left with nothing but slack in the rope and you sink back down into the water.  The trick is to let the boat do all the pulling and you simply hold the rope to get dragged around.

I think I need to let the rope pull me a bit at the poker table and not yank on the handle and throw myself forward too quickly with the All-In temptations.  $Maxiecat$
