The belmont

is a term we used to use for sliding backward at a rapid rate when we had a game beat and then hit a rush of cards that sent our chip stacks on a death spiral.  I’m not really there, but kinda sorta.  Since I am playing mainly tournaments and not  a lot of live, I’ve set a course for myself that may not be as easy to navigate as I would like but it is what it is.

I did win a stud tourney about five or six days ago.  It was a $3 + 30c with 80 players and I won $72 for first place. A day later, Glenda and I were both in another stud tourney andfinaltablemableendresult.jpg ended up in 1st and 2nd respectively.  We were both ecstatic to be at the final table together.  She beat the stuffin’s out of me.  For my efforts there, I took home $48.  It was another $3 + 30c and had 80 players.  I finished in 12th place out of 2150 players in a $2 + 20c NLH event and won $26.66 *heavy sigh*.  And in a $2 + 20c with 1212 players, I made $3.64 for 121st place.

My BR has dwindled down about a $100 from my last report with tournament buy-ins and no wins to help cover the cost of freight.  I’m not discouraged or  upset about it.  In fact, I expected it.  The only thing that has me frayed at the edges right now is that I’m in the dead zone with playable hands.

linda_1_1.jpgWhen I pick up a hand, I get beat by a 3 card out.  It’s a war of the mind for me. In the last 2 tournaments, the NLH, I sat card dead for ever.  The tournament that I finished in 12th place in, kept me staring at 9-4 and 6-2 for almost six hours before I busted out.  The last few hours I was kept alive by an occasional A-J off suit in which I just went all-in and no one at my table had to prove anything so they gave up the blinds and antes.

I played the $100K guaranteed on PokerStars yesterday - and ‘annette_15′ was at my table.  I also timed out, after I had put on a $1K raise with A-Q and got one caller.  Stars needs to think about doing something more with their servers on Sundays…it’s a mass action day for them.  After I got back in to my game, I sent for hand history to see what I had missed.  I’m sure I would have won that pot had I not timed out, and it was crucial for me at the time.

Last night I busted out of the last tournament when I went all-in for almost $3K with A-K of spades and A-6 of diamonds cold called almost all of their stack.  A nice little six came off on the flop and I was out.

Yeah…that’s poker, but I can’t remember signing a statement that said I had to like it!   BR at $520
