Chasing Chris Ferguson

That is me…a total Donkette in Hold’em tournaments. If I place at all I can’t get past barely making the money. I just accept the fact I have no clue, if I ever win one it will be pure luck. I will need a horseshoe bigger than Texas to come into any real money.

Really I don’t think my cards run worse than most players do, I just play them worse I guess. Today I had K9 suited on the button, I called $20. Flop was K57 rainbow. Since there were no pre-flop raises I thought it may be good, so I called the $20 bet. BAD move, I should have raised. I didn’t as I was thinking I was out kicked, maybe. End result was I did raise on the turn and was put all in by A-Q. Of course an A came on the river, the only card the raiser could win with. I doubt a raise on the flop would have made the A fold. These players think an A pair draw is gold…and no way you will get them off it. So goes my typical HE tourneys. Get 2 good cards and nothing on the flop, get something on the flop and it gets beat, get a draw and miss, the rest of the time get nothing. Very boring and frustrating! I understand Maxie… I am there too!

What has kept my bankroll on the upwards roll is the cash games. Last night I even tried the Stud hi 2/4 and hit it for $40 and left. The only reason I was there was I was following a fish. Sadly he went to a 2/4 PLO game I wouldn’t risk my chips or skill (which is none) in. I did see him lose a $989 pot to someone else, no split, sweet for the winner!

Last week my BR was struggling at the $550 level, now it is a little over $800, still $200 to go to meet my goal for this month, oh how I want to see that $1,000 mark!

To reach that mark I will probably have to win in cash games as the tourney wins are not even close to adding to my BR, $1-5 just doesn’t get it!

Currently I am in a Razz and Stud H/Ltourney on PokerStars, looking at QQ2, 444, AAK and other great high hands. Of course this is why I like H/L those hands are playable there.

I have also been playing in the Freerolls on PokerStars to the WSOP. This is a once a week only deal, a step to the next step tournament, played twice and busted out about 40 out of the prize of 50 seats. Oh well, it is free and there is always next week. 

In the Razz tourney Linda and I are at the same table. She is way ahead of me, I have had nothing, she has had 3 hands I think.  It is so odd for us to be at the same table starting a tourney because it is a rare occurance! Hope it comes down to the two of us heads up in this one. No chance of that unless my cards change fast as it is first break and I am playing bad to boot!
