Bumped and Bounced

I just barely managed to get into the Poker Stars 8:05 p.m. WSOP Round 1 Qualifier and got off to a good start.

I had several good hands come my way and was able to capitalize on them nicely.  I had even made it through the first break.  It was at about that time that the hubby came into my office in a panic, telling me that he thought he was reacting to the hot sauce he had just eaten.  Oh, the woes of marriage!

Food allergies are no joke to him, folks, as there is some additive or preservative being used more and more in our food sources that he is deathly allergic to.  He has to carry an Epipen and Benadryl anywhere he goes now.

Anyway, if he starts to feel a little bit itchy anywhere on his body, he may develop only that slight symptom or the episode can turn into something quite nasty.  The only way for us to assess the situation before it becomes full blown so that we know if he will need medication is very unconventional to say the least.  The procedure involves him dropping his pants so I can look at his butt to see if he is getting bumps (or sometimes even welts) on it! lol

Well, I was totally focused on the hand I was playing and sort of tuning him out as background noise when in he came and dropped his drawers and caught me off guard and I was so distracted that I instead of clicking on the fold button, I called and All-In bet with nothing but a pair of Kings and the Turn card that had just come up was the third club on the table giving my opponent a good possibility of having a flush.

So, what happened? Hubby turned out to be just fine.  No bumpy butt at all and no additional symptoms.  As for me, I was out of the game #1857 of 3920 players (Obviously the Flush hand happened for my opponent) and now I can’t get into another of these WSOP tourneys for a whole week! $Maxiecat$

Hey Maxie…. had the same night as you… (well, I guess I wasn’t forced to check out a dude’s anus, but after playing the freeroll I felt like I had)… was in the 9:05, played fairly tight but I was amazed at what a pushfest that thing was. The blind structure doesn’t help matters much either. I don’t think there was one hand that went by without at least 3 people all in. Finally had to go in with A9 from the BB, got 2 callers (of course) and was knocked out at 500 by 72o by a medium stack. These things are serious crap shoots. I really don’t think there is one bit of skill involved in winning one of these. Keep trying, you’ll get through it sooner or later. Jeff

Glad to hear that I am not alone in the craps game, with the recent comments from you as well as others! I am trying but my patience is beginning to wear thin along with my hair!
