I’ve been cheated
by the Card Fairy. The little be-atch is on the rampage 24/7, tracking me down and trampling me to death with a herd of ugly beats. Sure, they may not be ugly to you but that’s because they aren’t happening to you. I’ve played in about 3 to 4 tournaments a day and never made the $$ for the last week or so. The only thing that has kept my little BR hovering at the $500 mark is the 7 stud 8 or better $1&2 and occasional $2&4. That little be-atch hasn’t found me there yet. Whew!
The beats, sure we all have them, but they go on and on and on and on, like K-K creamed by 9-9 that hits a set, and A-K dominated by A-Q hitting a Queen, and this is one that if I really thought I was being cheated (of course I am, Goof Nut - I can’t possibly play that bad), I would believe it happened on this hand:

To say that I almost fell out of my chair would be a complete understatement. I couldn’t quite grasp the fact that ulamirn really thought to run me off the hand with a check raise at that point, or that he thought Queen high was good. And I know that most internet players don’t pay any attention, but I hadn’t played very many hands and the ones that I did that went to showdown were all credible hands.
Glenda and I even chatted about the hand. I told her that I was seriously thinking of sending an email to PokerStars support and asking if this guy was cheating (somehow having found a leak in their system) or if he was just a donk. Glenda found his stats and he is not a winning player. So I give up, he’s just a donk. And yes ulamirn, I hope you find yourself here and read this. But keep in mind, that I also hope that you play at my table everyday for the rest of my life.
But the whole bad run is just a continuing nightmare. I picked up three hands, back to back, Aces - carved up in pieces by 5-5 hitting a set, 10-10 winning about a $1,300 pot after pushing all-in and getting called by A-3 off (have no idea how they didn’t hit), the next hand 10-10 and a push, lost to an all-in that had something like 9-3 off.
And running bad works in other ways. Like getting a hand and not getting paid off on it. In one tourney the guy on my immediate left raised all-in pre-flop on every hand for the first hour. I pitched, and pitched, and pitched…nothing to play anyway. Then, SB, I picked up K-Q spades. I was waiting for Mr. BB - Raise Every Hand to push. He had me covered but I didn’t care, I was going for it because I’d seen some of the hands he’d pushed with (it was a re-buy tourney). I completed the blind bet when it came around - him and me - heads-up. He checked. The flop brought A-10 little. I checked, he checked. The turn brought a Jack, no suits. I checked, he checked. The river didn’t change a damn thing. I bet $50, he folded. Fiddle shit!
