Royal Rump Roast
Well, it’s a holiday weekend and a holiday is what I should be having from playing poker!I got onto Full Tilt and signed up for a 90 player SnG for Play Chips and after getting down to 24 players, I caught a pair of cowboys. I only had about 800 chips left and when I bet 3 X blinds, I only had 200. Then the flop came as 3 diamonds and of course, someone went all in and I folded knowing the player had flopped a flush. I was correct and someone went with him so I got to see the cards come and I would have lost. I was BB on the next hand of NOTHING and lost out at #23.
Then, I got into the 2700 Play chip tourney for Tournament $ and was hanging on at #91 when I caught A,Q of Hearts and went all in when someone else went for it before the flop. My opponent had A,Q unsuited and ended up with the flush! You just never know when those royal men and women will roast your rump and mine is now well done!! $Maxiecat$

Hey Maxie, sure you know this, but with only 800 chips + 200 blinds, your cowboys were WAY above average for pushing in that situation. It’s possible (but probably not likely if your opponents had deep stacks at that point) that you will get the marginal hands that will catch that flush to fold. The problem with the playchip tourneys, is… well, they’re playchips. You get called down with just about anything. In a real $ game - your push will probably mean a lot more. But with the amount of chips you had left, as Harrington says - you were a fly to be swatted. You need to make your big moves before you get down to an M of 2.5, or else there is no one you can hurt.
The AQ vs AQ sucks… I hate when that happens.
BTW, did you try the donkey test that was posted in the forums? Definitely worth a few minutes look.
