Holding Pattern
That seems to be where I am with the Bankroll, still hovering in a holding pattern at about $1,220. No I am not complaining. It may not be going up, but as long as it is not going down, I am fine with it.
With the end of the challenge looming sometime in November (I think) unless I hit it big in a tournament, well I can’t see hitting the $10k mark by then. But then again, it took Chris almost 2 years or close to it, to reach that mark. The goal to me has never been how much $$ but that I was able to do it at all, build a bankroll from nothing. And I still have no clue how I did it!
Of course I haven’t played in week until last night. Got in a $4.40 180 seat turbo and played 2 hands, the second one busted me. I had the never-win A-K of spades and raised on the button. A limper reraised and I called. I had just moved to the table and had no clue how limper played, but my gut told me pocket pair. Flop was one I couldn’t get away from, Qs-3s-Kd. Limper bet and I raised to see where he was, and he reraised. Of course I called, top pair and nut flush draw…but as usual, no spades came and the river brought just enough to make my loser look better, the Ah, the case Ace of course as Limper had pocket rockets and I was down to $160 in chips.
My last hand in the BB was a no chips desperation play, Q-3 spades. Flop was Q-8-7 rainbow and I was all-in pre-flop, so got to watch. There were 2 callers with UTG jamming…on the flop and again on the turn when a 9 hit. I figured him for maybe A-Q, or 2 pair…to my surprise he had A-J and took it down when a 10 came on the river. I don’t understand jamming into a dry side pot with an A hi, but what the hell do I know? Not much for sure. I can’t remember the last time I got a double running miracle, but since I don’t shoot for them, odds are unless I am all-in I will never make one.
I then put my name up for the 3/6 S H/L because the pots looked great, avg. over $50. I was up to $27 ahead, then went back to a whopping 50c winner and quit. I was tired and not hitting and the game had tightened up. Tomorrow, or today, is another day, so will save my chippers for another time.
And in the Home Game…
We were gone for 6 days, to Reno (VA), then to my sis’s, back to Reno then home. Spent quite a few buy-ins on gas of course. In Reno it was $3.97, by my sis it was $4.24 on Friday and $4.49 on Wednesday. Happy to say I took gas cans to Reno and was able to loop back through to Reno with my $3.97 gas! Then Filling up again in Reno it was at $4.02 and here in town it is $4.69. Huge difference! Next month I am having an additional gas tank installed on the truck, then when I am somplace where gas is way cheaper than here, I can take advantage of it. Plus when we get the 5th wheel I can go further without having to fill up.
Speaking of the new rig…no word yet, it is being hawked to the banks. But we did go see it and it is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! Hubby just let his mouth drop and kept saying “I Love it” so guess I made a good choice! If we get it, we will hit the road up to Oregon and over to the Redwoods. Not to worry, I will have internet thanks to the mobile thingy through AT&T! Ah what a thought, sitting on the coast..playing poker!
As for Hubby, looks like he will hang tough and be able to travel in the rig and to Alaska in September. He has fluid in his lung cavity but no tumor activity. That means there is a good chance cancer cells are not causing the fluid. He will have the fluid drained next Tuesday (loooonnngg needle thru his back..yuck!) then they analyze it and see what is causing it, hopefully. Then be able to prevent it, again hopefully. Yes…I am bribing hubby to stay well with the trips and rig…! But whatever works is fine by me!
Stay tuned because I am back..and in the poker mix…..
