Keeping Focused May Pay Off Yet

Well, my plans for tourneys to play the other night fell through as life got in the way!  I did manage to get into the Ultimate Bet $50 Tourney $ Freeroll last night at 7:15 though.

I worked really hard to stay focused on what was going on around me with my table members and their styles of play.  Although I did not win the tourney, I did make to #203 of 4737 which is better than my other stats of late.  Once you get distracted from the whole scene, you tend to lose the needed interest to stick with it, at least that is what happens in my case.  Life always come creeping into my office and steals away my concentration and I never get back to the wavelength I was on prior to the interruption, whatever it may be.

I was holding my own against 3 players at the table with 80,000 chips or more to my 10,000-12,000 chips and I did surprise them and steal some good pots on several occasions.  This is part of my new school of thought on getting more educated to other players rather than beating myself up over whether or not to play a hand that “should” be playable (of course, with a little luck) but isn’t that the very nature of the game anyway?

The end came for me when I managed a King high Flush from the Flop against couple of players majorly determined  to take me out of the game.  One of which lost to the other player as I did when our opponent left us in the dust with 4 Aces finished off nicely for him on the River.  I don’t feel bad about losing my stack on that hand when the other losing opponent lost 30,000 chips on a Queen high Flush.  At any rate, I finished within the top 4% which is a big improvement for my play in the last few weeks.  I will keep working on it and we shall see what happens next! $Maxiecat$
